A week in to the challenge and it’s, well, been fun! I’ll say it’s worth it, thus far. Granted, only 7 days have passed, but I actually feel better. If, a week ago, you told me “no more fast food or soda (pop) for you, anymore”. The laughter would’ve been loud. C’mon, you’re talking about a dude (that’s me) who “had” to start the day with a large Dr. Pepper from McDonalds (they have the best fountain pop) & a Hashbrown. We’re talking Monday thru Friday, folks. That was just the beginning to “wake up”. Throughout the day, at least a liter of Pespi or Dr. Pepper (on average) would be consumed. Mix that in with some fast food, or better yet, “unhealthy” food or snacks and we got my typical day for the past few years. I told you….I have became a pile of junk. No doubt.
Ok, back to the “present” me. Again, only a week in and I feel great. Stopping the sugary drinks and fast food “cold turkey” has not been an issue at all! I’m surprised. Now, to start my day, it’s a nice Shakeology drink in the Vitamix, with some fresh fruit thown in. I’ve replaced the liter(s) of pop with (never less than) 1.5 liters of water. That’s culminated in to 7.4 lbs jumping ship. I’ve actually lost weight? I’ve not done that in a decade! And to think that all I’ve done was swapped the bad choices of eating with better ones. That’s all! The first week, I didn’t want to do any type of exercise. I wanted to see the results of just changing my choices and mindset. I wanted that small victory and I got it. Now, the fun begins with the countdown to Aruba in April.
